- News and Previews
David Pittard, the immensely talented and professional race star from Hertfordshire is once again supporting a worthy cause by joining the host of racing stars taking part in the Henry Surtees Foundation Kart event at Buckmore Park on the 20th October.
The event, organised by former F1 world champion John Surtees, will help raise funds for the Henry Surtees Foundation as well as providing the top six drivers with some of the best prizes ever offered at a UK kart meeting.

Speaking ahead of the event, David said: "I had the pleasure of racing Henry right at the start of my racing career and to lose such a Talent just reminds you that Motorsport is so dangerous. The idea of bringing an event to boost young drivers careers and raise money for the foundation is a brilliant idea by John Surtees, really giving something back to the sport to find the next British formula 1 driver!"

David, who was always impressive during his karting career is relishing the chance to return to Buckmore: "I am really looking forward to getting back in a Kart and Buckmore park is one of the best Kart tracks in the UK. I am always looking for ways to support charities, and having recently completed the London to Brighton Bike ride in aid of Garden House Hospice, this high profile event is the logical follow on.”

Surtees, who set up the Henry Surtees Foundation in memory of his son, said: “Our event is there to give racers at varying levels of their development the chance to come together on similar karts at one of the most testing and exciting kart circuits in the country. The prizes are career enhancing, as will be the experience of competing against some of the best drivers in Britain. It will be competitive and there will be some great racing on show. It should be enjoyable for all involved.”

The Henry Surtees Foundation was set up with the mission to assist people with accidental brain and physical injuries, provide education and training in technology, engineering and fitness & to advance young people by developing their skills and capabilities so that they can participate in society as independent and responsible individuals.

The event takes place on Thursday the 20th October at Buckmore Park Circuit. For more information and to come and support David go to: http://www.henrysurteesfoundation.com
