60 days before the ERDF Masters Kart in the Palais Omnisports of Paris-Bercy, TAG Heuer announces its partnership with the end-of-season Rendez-Vous.
Already partner of the 1st version of Bercy Karting Masters in 1993, the Swiss watch brand comes back in Paris to celebrate the best drivers. This partnership with the ERDF Masters Kart ends its “Mastering Speed for 150 years” year and show TAG Heuer’s interest in sustainable energies, like this event using 100% electric racing karts, as well as in karting, the 1st step to all motor racing categories.
« Partnering the ERDF Masters Kart on December the 10th & 11th 2011 proves once again that TAG Heuer is THE benchmark in motor racing universe. The ERDF Masters Kart will be a good showcase of new technologies with 100% electric karts!” said Jean-Christophe Babin, President & CEO of TAG Heuer.
The show taking place in Palais Omnisports of Paris-Bercy will gather 20 “stars” drivers from F1, rally, endurance and other categories as well as 10 “juniors” drivers from current karting scene. TAG Heuer becomes the official watch of the event and also the official timekeeper, providing the organization with timing equipment with an accuracy of 1/10’000th of a second. TAG Heuer colors will will be visible in the Paris-Bercy stadium and in on-screen credits, and a countdown to the race powered by TAG Heuer is featured on the ERDF Masters Kart website, www.erdf-masters-kart.com.
This is the second major event that TAG Heuer has backed using 100% electric 4-wheel vehicles. In 2010, the Swiss brand partnered with Tesla Motors to create the TAG Heuer Tesla Roadster for the “Odyssey of Pioneers” — the first-ever round-the-world tour by an electric car.
"It’s an honour to welcome TAG Heuer back to the ERDF Masters Kart,” said Philippe Streiff, producer of the event. “I remember the first year of the Masters in 1993, when Ayrton Senna was behind the wheel of a fully-branded TAG Heuer kart.”
