The opening round of the KZ European Championship lived up to expectations, delivering closely fought racing throughout the weekend and confirming an increase in on-track battles following the introduction of the anti-launch system. It was a historic SuperSunday to close out the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals 28. For the first time in event history, postponed heat races and Last Chance Qualifiers were moved onto the final day of action due to the rain that continued to fall down on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Saturday evening. A revised schedule for the day put in the final heat races, the opening ceremonies, three LCQ races and then rolled into the nine main events for the day. Weather was sunny but certainly the coldest of the week and went into the nearly 7pm local time, making for a paced 12-hour day for officials and competitors. (ekartingnews)

Racing action began at the Superkarts! USA SuperNationals 28 outside the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The roughly 7/10-mile temporary circuit was tested fiday as the first two rounds of heat races were contested for the nine categories competing, featuring nearly 570 entries. Rain overnight left the track a bit damp for morning warm-up before racing began. Sun hit the area for some time before clouds rolled over for overcast skies, however, temperatures remain in the comfortable range heading into the night races for the afternoon group of categories.
