The FIA Karting European Championship made its stop at the Kartodromo Internacional Lucas Guerrero in Chiva-Valencia from May 7 to 10, 2026, marking the second round of the season for the OK and OK-Junior categories, joined this weekend by the Academy-Senior category for its opening round. The Academy-Senior category kicked off with its first event, featuring an international format with one driver per represented nation and young talents from around the world competing in a highly technical setting. In the OK Senior category, the race weekend for several drivers was dramatically compromised by a tyre issue that emerged during the Finals, forcing a number of them to retire early. Among the most notable was Italian driver Martinese, who had put on a stellar comeback drive and looked poised to challenge for the top step of the podium.
After a generally positive debut year for the new single tyre supplier, the second season of the FIA Karting three-year exclusive deal hasn’t had the best of starts in Spain.
