CIK FIA - Zak O'Sullivan, «I want to get the most out of the last part of the season.»
CIK FIA European Champhionship

After a slow start of the season, the British driver Zak O'Sullivan bounced back at the weekend in Ampfing. Pouncing from the rear, he finished in P7.

Some seasons start on the wrong foot, motorsport teaches, but a fundamental quality of any athlete in this discipline is, undoubtedly, his or her reaction time, that is, the turn- around time, the capacity to move forward, race ahead to form.

And he's suceeded. Zak O'Sullivan was definitely one of the top protagonist of the Ampfing sessions, the third European OKJ event. A weekend wherein he was always out in front, from qualifying to the heats, only to be penalized for a spoiler during the last hetas clash; hence his starting position from P16 for the final. From there he pounced, running through the ranks, moving up 9 positions, thanks to an astounding race pace. A performance that leaves O'Sullivan hopeful for the rest of the season.

The comment:

«My weekend at Ampfing started off well when I qualified 3rd overall. Unfortunately I had a ten place penalty to serve from an incident in round 1 at Sarno, so I started all of my heats from 5th position. In my five heats I finished 5th, 4th, 3rd , 2nd and 23rd in my last heat due to a front fairing penalty. I started the final 16th and came through to 7th by the end of the race. My goals for the last round in Essay and the rest of the season is to pick up as many good results as I can and try to overcome some issues I’ve been having in the mid part of the season. In the final at Ampfing, I think that the things that helped me make a great comeback was that fortunately I had reasonably good race pace and I enjoy those situations when I’ve got to get through the field from the back. It could be said that I’ve had a bit  to much practice at that this year!»
