Moroccan Sami Taufik wins an incredible OK final ahead of Pavel Bulantsev and Pedro Hiltbrand.
Sami Taufik makes the most of a great start: he started from grid 7th and after the green light he was second behind poleman Pedro Hiltbrand. It takes less than one lap for the Moroccan to take the head of the race, followed by the reigning world champion.
On lap 4 Pavel Bulantsev passes Hiltbrand and takes the second position. The leading group is really close and it’s composed by: Taufik, Bulantsev, Hiltbrand, Tonteri and Kruetten.
Local boy Paavo Tonteri is on fire and from lap 8 he starts his comeback overtaking Hiltbrand and Bulantsev. On lap 16 he is breathing on Taufik’s neck. Three laps later he tries to grab the lead of the race, but Taufik defends and Bulantsev takes the first position.
While Tonteri slips to fourth position, Taufik re-gains the head of the race the following lap. On the last lap a fierce fight between Hiltbrand and Bulantsev flares up and Taufik pulls away from the pack. Positions remain unchanged under the finish line.
