Following the success of the Midlands and Northern series, TKM announced the provisional calendar for the new Southern TKM Club Championship.
The Junior and Senior championship will be run at six events with one dropped score. The events at Clay Pigeon, Dunkeswell, Llandow, Forest Edge and Buckmore Park will be joined by the Maxxis TKM Festival at Kimbolton in August, an event where a large number of drivers take part, making it a logical addition and featuring full TV coverage.
Registered drivers will be able to score points not just in the final, but also based on the grid for the final. This will reward drivers who perform well in the heats but then might have a problem in the final. In addition, a Clubman category will be run for the Seniors if sufficient registrations are received.
Dunkeswell Kart Club will act as host club for the series with organisation carried out by TKM co-ordinator Grahame Butterworth, who said: “The concept we established in the Midlands and North has been very successful and we are delighted at the enthusiastic response we have received from drivers and clubs in the Southern area.”
TKM parent company Tal-Ko Racing will organise support for the series which will take place as part of normal club race meetings creating minimum upheaval for clubs. It is open to drivers of all abilities, from novice through to experienced. Drivers will be required to register with Tal-Ko in order to score points.
Further information and updates will be available on the TKM website www.tal-ko.com
